Kerstens' Maple Hill Centennial Farm

Certified Naturally Grown (more info)

Kerstens’ Maple Hill Centennial Farm is owned and operated by Ron and Leanne Kersten. Ron and Leanne had long envisioned having a greenhouse business and living on the home farm, but not until Ron’s retiring from teaching in 2006, did it finally become a reality. The farm was first established by Ron’s grandfather, Herman Kersten, in 1895. Herman went on to build a successful family dairy farm with his wife and eventually, fifteen children. Ron’s father, Wallace, was the youngest of those children, and took over the farm in 1947 when he married Ruby. They continued to farm with their three children until Wallace retired in 1986. In 1999, Ron and Leanne purchased the farm buildings and 60 acres, but did not begin farming until 2004, after selling the original farm buildings to their daughter Emilie, and son-in-law David, and building another home on the property along with a greenhouse that opened for business in 2005. The family’s dream and mission is to continue the time-honored tradition of small-scale family farming, upholding to integrity, a good work ethic, being good stewards of the land, and delivering high quality produce from their farm.
KERSTENS’ MAPLE HILL CENTENNIAL FARM IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THEY ARE NOW A CERTIFIED NATURALLY GROWN FARM WHICH INCLUDES THE GARDENS AND ORCHARDS, GREENHOUSE, AND MAPLE SYRUP PRODUCTION. For further information and to see our farm profile, go to www.naturallygrown.org
